Welcome
On the city's western border
Reared against the sky
Proudly stands our Alma Mater
As the years roll by.
Forward ever be thy watchword,
Conquer and Prevail.
Hail to thee our Alma Mater,
Vanderbilt, All Hail!
I figured the best way to begin the first post would be to include the lyrics to Vanderbilt's alma mater. It is, after all, the inspiration for the new site name. While we had a number of good options to choose from, we felt that Conquer and Prevail was the most appropriate.
We couldn't be more excited to join SB Nation. This is a tremendous honor for us, and we can't wait to get started. Other than the fresh-looking site, not much should change on our end. We still have the same great access to players and coaches, making Conquer and Prevail the most comprehensive Vanderbilt blog on the planet.
We'll be on the sidelines and in the press box (and possibly our mom's basement), bringing you all the latest on Commodore athletics, while also taking a close look at the rest of the Southeastern Conference, so be sure to check back often.

Welcome!
Keep sending quality NFL players to the NFL, especially to the Broncos. However, none will be better than Jay Cutler.

Vanerbilt is my second favorite college.
Just behind the CU Buffs. I’ll be cheering for Vandy all the way!
Good luck, and welcome to SB nation.

Welcome to SB Nation.
I am so glad you guys developed a top notch QB like Cutler and that he landed in Denver. I never really knew anything about Culter before we drafted him except for what I heard on ESPN and as soon as we drafted him I was extatic. I am a big fan of Jay so along with GO BRONCOS……GO VANDY!!

Thanks, guys
Can’t tell you excited I am to be on board, and I look forward to getting to know all of you!
As for Vandy’s best player, it’s junior cornerback D.J. Moore. Yesterday he had two carries for 37 yards, two kick returns for 54 yards, two punt returns for 84 yards and an interception return for 31 yards.
Here’s to hoping Cutler and the Broncos make Phillip Rivers look foolish this afternoon..

I'd like to add my welcome to the chorus.
I’m so glad that we have a Vandy blog now. I’ve been a fan for the better part of the last six years, but I’ve never really found a good internet clearinghouse for VU. I’m so glad that we have you on SBN now, and I look forward to reading your work.

Welcome to the Vanderbilt blogosphere
It’s great to see the number of Vanderbilt blogs exploding this season.. I’m going to try to do some public feed aggregation or something at Save the Shield to make it easier to find good content on all of them.
I know your name’s familiar — were you doing another non-SBN blog before this one?

I appreciate it
Thanks again for all of your kind words. And yes, Phillip, I ran The Sports VU before joining SB Nation. Nothing has changed our end other than the name and, of course, the fresh-looking website.
I don’t think the switch could have come at a better time. This is a great opportunity and I’m pumped to get started. And feel free to spread the word!

Vandy means business
Great to see Vandy join the SB Nation. Looking forward to reassurances for us Vandy fans that this year’s 3-0 start is different (I believe it is) from 2005’s start.
Keep the good stuff coming.

Welcome aboard guys
Way to start the season off right
My wife and I were down in Nashville a couple of summers ago and really enjoyed touring your campus.
Good luck the rest of the way!

Hey, Commodores...
…Welcome to the interwebs (didn’t you guys invent the interwebs?). Anyway, congratulations on a great start to the 2008 season…and let me know if you plan a reunion tour with Lionel Ritchie.
