What was Chancellor Gee thinking?
When former Chancellor Gordon Gee decided to return home to Ohio State, it clearly wasn't for the academics. But, at least the football team was better, right?
As Lee Corso would say, "Not so fast, my friends." The Commodores are ranked 13th by the Associated Press and are closing in fast on Gee's 12th-ranked Buckeyes. (Hey, the sign above isn't as far-fetched as it may seem).
Vanderbilt coach Bobby Johnson was asked about that at Monday's press conference and smiled before saying that Gee has wished him nothing but the best.
"We've communicated and he's pulling as hard as he can for the Commodores," Johnson said.
And while Vanderbilt may trail Ohio State in the AP, it's well ahead of the Buckeyes in this week's mock BCS standings by ESPN.com's Brad Edwards. The Commodores are a ridiculous eighth, behind No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 2 Alabama and No. 6 LSU, among others.
The BCS formula factors in two polls (coaches and Harris) along with six computer rankings, the highest and lowest of which are dropped. As Edwards points out, "Vanderbilt is No. 1 -- yes, you actually read those words -- in the Massey Ratings. But even after you throw out that number, the Commodores are still tied with Missouri for the second-best computer average."

Pretty cool stuff, isn't it, Chancellor Gee?

Ok, that sign is hilarious.
It’s been a complete breath of fresh air to see clever signs with proper spelling and grammar. (Or at the very least, any deviations are done purposefully.) Maybe ESPN oughta head to Nashville more often.
