Around SBN: The Definitive Case For Will Muschamp, Part 1 Bar-right-arrows

Weekend Picks

South Carolina (-2.5) @ Kentucky. I think UK's close game with Alabama has artificially lowered this line. That was more of a case of a good team not coming to play than the Wildcats coming out party. South Carolina won last week by 7 in Oxford while scoring 31 points, so maybe they've turned a corner offensively.

Vanderbilt (-2.5) @ Mississippi St. I gotta ride the Commodores as they continue to defy the odds makers. If Auburn came into this game undefeated they'd be at least a touchdown favorites. A 10-7 VU victory would be seen as a big letdown, yet still be a cover.

Georgia (-12.5) vs. Tennessee. Don't expect the Bulldog's to overlook UT after getting blown out the last two years. After last year's game UGA went on the big run that led to this year's high ranking. Mark Richt should have his team looking for revenge and they are talented enough to blow UT off the field.

Auburn (-17) @ vs. Arkansas. Once again is there is only sure thing in the SEC, Arkansas is awful. My flag football team could score on the Hogs, which is about the talent level of the Tigers offense. A score of like 23-3 which includes a defensive touchdown would not surprise me at all.

LSU (+5.5) @ Florida. I always have confident in Les Miles. His teams always show up in big games and this weekend should be no different. I expect LSU to win outright. The Tigers are dominant in the trenches where UF is weak, this should mask their QB deficiencies.

Last Week 5-1 , Overall 20-17-1

Other picks I feel kinda good about.

Oklahoma (-6.5) vs. Texas @ Dallas. Oklahoma is better at basically every position. Texas has beaten up on a bunch of pasties in their ascension to a top 5 ranking. Even though the game is in Texas, the Sooners will put plenty of their fans in the stands.

Michigan St. (-1) @ Northwestern. I'm not really buying the Wildcats quite yet and MSU's RB Javon Ringer could be my favorite player in the country . The guy carries the ball 30-40 times every single Saturday and is an absolute horse. He will carry the Spartans to victory.

Last Week 2-0, Overall 7-5

Conquer and Prevail is run by Vanderbilt senior Jarred Amato, formerly of The Sports VU, and the rest of his semi-respectable crew. Don't be confused by the name change -- it's still the same great content. At least we like to think so...
