SEC Power Rankings: Week Six

No, we're not in the SEC Power Rankings blog poll, but hey, since all the cool kids are doing it, why not join the fun? Here's at look at how we think the SEC teams stack up, along with two telling statistics for each of them.

1) ALABAMA 6-0 (3-0)

The good: No. 1 in rushing offense (226.3 yards per game) and rushing defense (50.8 yards per game)

The bad: No. 10 in net punting (32 yards) and kickoff coverage (40.6 yards)

2) LSU 4-0 (2-0)

The good: Tailback Charles Scott leads the league in rushing (133.8 yards per game)

The bad: Surprisingly No. 12 in kickoff returns (18.4 yards)

3) GEORGIA 4-1 (1-1)

The good: No. 1 in pass offense (263.4 yards per game)

The bad: No. 12 in penalties (both in amount and yards)

4) VANDY 5-0 (3-0)

The good:  No.1 in turnover margin (+9)

The bad: No. 12 in total offense (278,8 yards per game)

5) FLORIDA 4-1 (2-1)

The good: No. 1 in scoring offense (36.0 points per game) and No. 2 in turnover margin (+8)

The bad: No. 11 in penalties

6) KENTUCKY 4-1 (0-1)

The good: No. 1 in scoring defense (7.8 points per game)

The bad: No. 9 in rushing offense (142.6 yards per game) and No. 8 in rushing defense (115 yards per game)

7) AUBURN 4-2 (2-2)

The good: No. 1 in opponents' third-down conversions (18.3 percent)

The bad: No. 12 in third-down conversions (29.7 percent)

8) SOUTH CAROLINA 4-2 (1-2)

The good: No. 1 in pass defense (128 yards per game)

The bad: No. 7 in sacks for (10) and No. 11 in sacks against (20)

9) OLE MISS 3-3 (1-2)

The good:  Tied for No. 2 in sacks for (13) and No. 3 in sacks allowed (5)

The bad: No. 11 in turnover margin (-6)

10) TENNESSEE 2-3 (0-2)

The good:  No. 1 in total defense (244.4 yards per game)

The bad: No. 12 in pass efficiency (102.6)

11) MISSISSIPPI STATE 1-4 (0-2)

The good:  No. 3 in pass defense (153.4 yards per game)

The bad: Any offensive category

12) ARKANSAS 2-3 (0-2)

The good: Michael Smith leads the league with 150 all-purpose yards per game

The bad: No. 12 in rushing offense (100.6 yards per game) and rushing defense (208.4 yards per game)
